„Více pravomocí pro Bundestag ve věci záchrany eura,“ píše v titulku list Süddeutsche Zeitung. Ústavní soud rozhodl, že vláda nemůže obejít německý parlament prostřednictvím účelově sestavené skupiny devíti poslanců, kteří měli bez veřejné debaty rozhodovat o naléhavých otázkách spojených se záchranou eura. Soudci z Karlsruhe soudí, že by tento způsob rozhodování porušil práva dalších 600 poslanců.
Tisk tento rozsudek vítá jako vítězství demokracie. Mnichovský deník k tomu píše:
Kancléřka a její ministr financí se pokusili omezit parlament. Výdaje ve výši mnoha miliard euro měly být schvalovány pouze devíti loutkami. Naše vrcholná soudní instance to nemohla a nesměla dopustit.
