“120,000 to emigrate by end of 2011,” headlines the Irish Times. According to a report released today, Irish people will once again be forced to take the traditional route abroad in search of work because while the economy is recovering faster than expected, “it does not anticipate stronger economic growth feeding into demand for labour”. The report also warns that at nearly 20 percent Ireland will run the largest deficit in the 27-member EU for the second consecutive year. Opposition parties are reminding the government of “an urgent need for a job strategy.”
