100 days of government: 82 “executed”

“The interim government led by Jiří Rusnok, which has been in office for two months without being officially appointed by the Czech parliament, has behaved like “an invading commando” complains Mladá fronta Dnes.
According to the daily, which describes the initiative as a “purge”, 82 high ranking civil servants and public company executives have been replaced.
Dnes, which notes that all of the severance pay will have an impact on the budget, points out that the Czech Republic remains the only country in the EU not to have voted a law on the civil service “to protect public servants from politicians […] and ensure that ministry staff do not change with every new government”.
