On 28 May the EU announced it will propose a ban on pic-nic fans' much-loved single-use plastic products such as dishes and straws, as a mean to fight against their accumulation on beaches and seasides. Currently only 30 percent of this type of litter is recycled in the EU, the rest mostly ends up in the sea.
