On 14 March the British Parliament voted in favour of extending the Brexit deadline beyond the planned date – 29 March – , until 30 June, so as to give Theresa May's government more time to try to avoid a "hard Brexit". EU leaders will decide this week whether they agree on the extension, while the Prime minister is set to present a new deal to the House of Commons.
