The leaders of the 27, gathered in Brussels on 10 April, decided to give British Prime Minister Theresa May until 31 October, the day of Halloween and the last day of the mandate of the current European Commission, to find an agreement on leaving the European Union.
If Brexit does not take place by 22 May, the UK government will have to organise the European elections, which will take place from 23 to 26 May.
