‘Albania, the 5 recommendations and 33 points for negotiation with the EU’

In its report on priorities for EU enlargement in 2014, the European Commission has proposed granting accession candidate status to Albania, waiving the conditions it has applied since 2009, reports Shekulli.

The Albanian daily writes that when Commissioner for Enlargement Štefan Füle presented the report he —

… provided a new list of recommendations that will have to be followed by our country: the depoliticisation of public administration, the reinforcement of the judicial system, the drive to fight corruption and organised crime, but also the protection of human rights — in particular the rights of Roma — and the right to property.

The daily also lists the 33 areas of discussion that are likely to form the basis of accession negotiations, which could begin as early as December.
