Up until until 2008, Péter Pető (b. 1984) was a sports journalist and football referee. Since then he has worked as a political analyst and columnist at Hungarian daily Népszabadság.

After abolishing automatic voter registration, the Hungarian Parliament is expected to approve a bill restricting media time allotted to parties during the 2014 elections.
