Sami Naïr

Sami Naïr (b. 1946) is an Algerian-born French political philosopher. An advisor to Lionel Jospin’s government from 1997 to 1999 and an MEP till 2004, he is one of Europe’s most prominent progressives. He has been vice president of theCitizen and Republican Movement since 2001. An expert on European immigration, co-development and Mediterranean policy, Naïr has written a number of books, including “Immigration Explained to My Daughter” (1999). His articles often appear in El País, Le Monde, Libération and Argentina's El Clarín.
