Ralf Neukirch

German journalist Ralf Neukirch (b. 1965) has worked as a Der Spiegel correspondent in Berlin since 2002. He previously worked for Associated Press and Handelsblatt.

    Since the start of the pro-EU protests against the Ukrainian government, former boxer Vitali Klitschko has emerged as one of the main challengers to President Viktor Yanukovytch. Groomed by to the German chancellor’s Christian-Democrats, he could be soon backed by more European leaders.

  • Germany: Enter the anti-euro challengers

    The "Alternative for Germany" party, which will be officially launched on April 14, aims to take the federal republic out of the euro. Although its founders lack a well-defined roadmap, they could still bother Angela Merkel in September's general elections.
