Carlo Petrini

Carlo Petrini

Carlo Petrini (b.1949) is an Italian gastronome, journalist and writer. He founded the Slow Food movement and established the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Bra, northwest Italy. He was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in 2007.

    Common Agricultural Policy reforms unveiled in June have not come up to expectations, believes the head of the Slow Food movement. Member states have too much leeway and reforms fail to sufficiently promote sustainability and reduce inequalities between operators.
