Briefing: VoxEurop | Capital and ideology according to Thomas Piketty

Hello and welcome to VoxEurop newsletter.

Capital and ideology, the latest book by French economist Thomas Piketty, came out last week. It provides a wealth of graphs and tables: Alternatives Economiques selected some of the most interesting data on inequality. Previously we analysed a series of other data concerning inequality across Europe.

In another story, we had a look at the The Nestpick Generation Z City index, which ranks 110 cities across the world according to their attractiveness to generation Z’s needs.

Our Bulgarian partner Capital also adds to our series of stories on Dieselgate, by looking into how some EU countries appear to lag behind others in terms of adapting polluting vehicles.

While European Central Bank President Mario Draghi announced a series of measures to counter the effects of the looming recession, columnist Guillaume Duval addresses his friends in Germany to urge them to abandon the austerity policy pursued so far in Europe.
