Briefing: Do European ships pollute more than cars?

Hello, and welcome to VoxEurop newsletter.

While COP25 is underway in Madrid, we're having a close look to two major environmental issues, along with our partner from MobileReporter: Carbon emissions by ships – are boats more polluting than cars? – and the EU ban on the most widespread pesticide around. Meanwhile, and as the European commission has unveiled its Green Deal, the European Environmental Agency just released its report on the state and outlook of the European environment. And it doesn't look good.

On another hand, French researcher Olivier Ertzscheid explains why in his opinion big tech firms are working to undermine Tim Berners-Lee “contract for the Web”, with which the founder of the WWW aims to save the network from the abuses threatening it. And since we are talking about essential freedoms, you will also find the Call for respect for press freedom and journalistic independence in Europe that was presented in Paris by several NGOs with the support of VoxEurop.
