Vatican conclave to elect a new pope.

Oh, no. Not him!

The 115 cardinal-electors are due to go in to conclave on March 12 to choose the next pope.

According to predictions based on the frequency of references to the different cardinals on social networking websites, American Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Filipino Luis Antonio Tagle and Italian Gianfranco Ravasi are among the favorites.

The election takes place in accordance with a well-established rite and the decision is traditionally announced by the sight of white smoke rising from a chimney installed last week on the roof of the Sistine Chapel.
