The trial of Socialist former defence minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos began on April 22 in Athens. The 73-year-old is accused of having received bribes in the deal to purchase Russian anti-aircraft missiles and German submarines.

Tsohatzopoulos has already been sentenced to 8 years in prison in early March, for hiding assets from the Greek treasury.
