The 195 countries attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP19), which have been engaged in talks in Warsaw since November 11, finally reached agreement on Saturday November 23, more than 24 hours after the official close of the summit.

The final text establishes a roadmap that will apply until 2015, when a global agreement (set to come into force in 2020) which, for the first time, will involve a commitment from all the countries, is to be signed in Paris. In the meantime, signatory countries have pledged to publish their plans for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by the first quarter of 2015.
