As the famine worsens in Somalia and the rest of the Horn of Africa, the international community is struggling to raise aid deemed necessary by the UN and NGOs. The European Commission has so far promised €116.43 million, against €312 million from the United States. With €45.5 million, the United Kingdom is the EU country which has promised the most aid.
