The leaf of discord

"Romania, what a mess", is how Academia Caţavencu summarises the "scandal" of the summer. The logo created by the Spanish advertising agency THR, commissioned for the promotion of the country's image, has created a controversy as much for its cost to taxpayers (900,000 euros) as for its lack of originality. Their slogan "Explore the garden of the Carpates", had already been registered two years earlier and used elsewhere. On the cover of the magazine, the same leaf crowns a worm-infested apple representing a number of politicians who seem to agree that "There is something rotten in the state of Romania".
