One week after the lethal leak of toxic red sludge from the alumina plant in Ajka, the situation remains highly dangerous, worries Népsabadszág. The Budapest-based daily reports that Kolontár, the village most devastated by the disaster, had to be re-evacuated owing to new cracks detected in the wall of the holding pond for the factory’s toxic waste.
