Following a long period of hesitation, the foreign affairs ministers of the European Union's 28 member states decided on July 22 to add the armed wing of Hezbollah to the European Union's list of terrorist organisations.

This "condemnation" explains German daily Die Welt, means that the Lebanese Shite organisation's accounts in the EU will be frozen and it's representatives banned from entering Europe.

The measures are motivated partly by an attack against Israeli tourists carried out in Bulgaria in July 2012 by a member of Hezbollah and do not target the movement as a whole. The EU must determine who is a member of the armed wing and who is a member of the political party, which is represented in the Lebanese Parliament.
