Moscow sent 287 lorries loaded with humanitarian aid (seeds, electric generators, meat, sugar, water, baby food, drugs and sleeping bags) towards Eastern Ukraine, where pro-russian separatists fight the Ukrainian army, despite Kiev did not ask for it. It's "sneaky move", writes De Volkskrant, as the region does need help, but the West does not trust Russia's intentions: Kiev, the EU and Washington, who are discussing the humanitarian issue in Eastern Ukraine, fear the convoy, drove by Russian soldiers, might be a concealed military invasion of Ukraine.

On Kiev's demand, Moscow accepted that the convoy will be supervised by the Red Cross once it will arrive at the Ukrainian border. "Meanwhile", the daily adds,

the European Commission promised yesterday €2.5 million of emergency funds for housing, food, water and medical supplies so as to prepare for the coming winter. An announcement that was crushed under 287 lorries.
