The latest issue of Polish magazine New Eastern Europe focuses on Moldova, whose association agreement with the EU came into force on 1 September.
The efforts made by Chisinau to get closer to the Union are the main reason Moldova is considered, among the European post-Soviet countries, the Eastern Partnership’s “star pupil”, notes the magazine.
Moldova also plays an important role in “the community’s relations with Russia”, with the self-proclaimed separatist republic of Transnistria now a model for pro-Russian separatists in nearby Ukraine.
