“Ukraine has a new craze: the ‘trash bucket challenge’”, writes De Volkskrant. As 26 October general elections approach, supporters of ultra-nationalistic parties Right Sector and Svoboda throw Ukrainian politicians and civil servants into wheeled garbage containers and then put the videos on YouTube. One shows Viktor Pylypyshyn, a member of former President Viktor Yanukovych's Party of Regions, ending up in a garbage bin, covered in red paint.

Right Sector justifies the actions by saying that the government hardly tries to tackle the corruption in the country. Other politicians fear the “trash bucket challenge” will “give the country a bad name”. The Dutch newspaper thinks it is “a sign of the degeneration of the political climate in the country”.
