Once again, the European Commission’s annual report on progress in judicial reform, and the fight against corruption and organised crime has criticised inefficient legislation and the poor functioning of the country’s justice system. “The problem for Bulgaria is that several of the recommendations have already featured in previous Commission reports,” notes the daily, which highlights “the importance of this report for Bulgaria, because certain countries have announced that the Commission’s conclusions [will play] a decisive role in the vote on Bulgaria’s application to join Schengen.”
