In the wake of relatively unsuccessful vaccination campaigns against an epidemic that has turned out to be something of a damp squib, several countries, including France, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Italy, have been lumbered with large stocks of influenza A (H1N1) vaccine, which they are now attempting to offload.
