Launched in 1995 by a group of journalists that broke away from rival magazine Globus, Nacional follows a liberal political line. With a strong focus on investigative reporting, the weekly, which has been inspired by its major counterparts in Germany, is particularly hostile to the HDZ nationalist party, which has ruled Croatia since its independence. The magazine’s website also offers access to an English language version.
