Zbyněk Petráček is een van de oprichters van het weekblad Respekt. Tegenwoordig is hij journalist voor het dagblad Lidové Noviny. Hij schrijft zowel over de Tsjechische als buitenlandse politiek. Hij is tevens Israëlkenner en gespecialiseerd in het Israël-Palestinaconflict.
