Po buncie wicepremiera Angelino Alfano i „umiarkowanych” z partii PDL, Silvio Berlusconi został zmuszony do upokarzającego „zwrotu w ostatniej chwili” i ostatecznego głosowania za utrzymaniem rządu koalicyjnego pod kierownictwem Enrico Letty, a tym samym zakończenia politycznego kryzysu, który sam spowodował, zauważa z satysfakcją La Repubblica.
Pomimo kapitulacji Berlusconiego, Alfano i jego frakcja wciąż rozważają utworzenie nowej grupy parlamentarnej, co byłoby pierwszym krokiem w kierunku rozłamu PDL i utworzenia nowej partii konserwatywnej, donosi Repubblica.
