The next three days will be particularly hot for Greece, announces Ta Nea. From Monday, town halls will be closed, and nocturnal demonstrations have been organised to take place in Syntagma Square in the centre of Athens.
July 16 has been set as the date for a general strike by public and private sector unions, which is to be supported by workers in Greece’s health care system.
And on July 17, parliament is to vote on a new law that will pave the way for the 15,000 public service redundancies. The plan, which has prompted the protests this week, was the main condition for €6.8bn in aid approved by the EU and the IMF last week.
