Radovan Karadžić has boycotted the opening of his trial, which is expected to last two years, at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. The leader of the Bosnian Serbs from 1992 to 1995, who is accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, is refusing to appear before the court because he believes that he has not been given enough time to prepare his defence.
