Now that Ireland has approved the Lisbon treaty following the 2 October referendum, the last major obstacle to the implementation of the troubled text is the Czech republic's Eurosceptic president Václav Klaus. Klaus is under pressure from his European partners to approve the treaty already ratified by the Czech parliament.
