France: Not everyone is on holiday

According to official figures, France had 3,279,000 jobseekers in June, 14,900 more than the previous month. This number rises to 4,799,700 if you count those people who have irregular employment.

The jobless rate is 10.9per cent, compared to an average of 12.2 across the Eurozone and 11 per cent across the EU, according to Eurostat.
