According to the latest ranking of the most powerful people in the world, published by the US magazine Forbes, Russian President Vladimir Putin is now more powerful than US President Barack Obama. However, both leaders are placed ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pope Francis.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is in 5th place, the highest ranking European, while President of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi is in 9th position. British Prime Minister David Cameron is 11th and French President François Hollande is 19th. No other Europeans appear in the top 30.
