Carlo Freccero (b. 1947) is a writer for television and an Italian media specialist. After working in France and also for Silvio Berlusconi owned stations in Italy during the eighties, he was appointed Programme Director of France 2and France 3. Returning to Italy, he managedRai 2from 1996 to 2003. Following a falling out with Berlusconi, he was appointed head of Rai 4 in 2008. He teaches televisual communications at the University of Rome III and is the author of several essays on television.
