Francesco Torri is an investigative journalist specialising in reporting on socio-environmental conflicts caused by extractivism. He writes for Italian and international outlets on issues related to the neocolonial paradigms of the extractive industry, primarily regarding its human rights violations against Indigenous and rural communities, as well as its disastrous environmental impacts. In Latin America, Francesco has covered topics of logging, mining, renewable energy, and Indigenous sovereignty. He was recently awarded the Earth Journalism Fund and is a grantee of IJ4EU.
