On 11 June the new Spanish government, run by Socialist Prime minister Pedro Sánchez after the motion of defiance that overthrew Conservative Mariano Rajoy, announced it will welcome in Valencia's harbor the 629 migrants rescued by the humanitarian ship Acquarius between Malta and Italy. The Acquarius was refused docking by both countries.
