Journalist Ahmet Altan (b. 1950) has worked as a senior editor or as a columnist for several of the best known titles in the Turkish press including Hürriyet, Milliyetand Radikal. An ardent proponent of balanced reporting on sensitive issues, such as the Kurdish question and the Armenian genocide, he is currently editor in chief of the daily Taraf.
