Francisco Basterra

Born in Blibao in 1937, Francisco G. Basterra writes a column for El País. He was previously editor of the international pages, correspondent in the U.S. and responsible for the paper's Sunday edition. In 1996 he was appointed director of CNN+ news service, created by the PRISA group, in collaboration with CNN, a post he held until 2008.
