Karim El-Gawhary

Born in Munich in 1963, German-Egyptian journalist Karim El-Gawhary has worked as freelancer in Cairo for almost two decades. He is a regular contributor to a wide range of publications including the Berlin daily [Tageszeitung](http://www.presseurop.eu/content/source-information/560-die-tageszeitung), and also reports for the Austrian public radio station ORF. A specialist on the Islamic world, he is a noted commentator on the theme of the Arab population in the West.
