To attract more students, the city of Berlin plans to offer them a welcome payment of €250—€300, reports Berliner Morgenpost.

The German capital, which, according to a census published in May, has 180,000 fewer residents than previously thought, is hoping to boost federal equalisation funding for the city, which is determined by the size of its population.
