A reader, NunoD, recommends an article in Jornal de Negocios on the Portuguese local elections of September 29. In NunoD’s view –

The author points out that the candidates with more realistic and austere proposals ended up winning in several municipalities in the country. The victory of the independent Rui Moreira in Porto, Portugal's second city, is a remarkable example of this. The author integrates the European elections in the European context. Her view is interesting in that it can show non-Portuguese readers that the Portuguese public space is more diverse than many of them might think.
