The leaders of the three parties in Greece's ruling coalition government have been negotiating for several days to find the 11.5 billion euros in savings demanded by the EU-ECB-IMF troika whose representatives are currently in Athens. But the PASOK (socialist) leader Evangelos Venizelos and Fotis Kouvelis of Democratic Left oppose the cuts to pensions and wages proposed by the Prime Minister Antonis Samaras of New Democracy (centre-right).
