"At 8pm on February 28, Ratzinger will leave the pontificate," says the Italian daily. "His decision came about following his return from his trip to Mexico and Cuba in March 2012," the paper explains, adding: "The conclave to elect the new pope will be held in March. Possible candidates include: Cardinal Pasinya of Congo, Cardinal Ouellet of Canada and Cardinals Scola and Bagnasco, who are both from Italy."
