The Scotsman

Founded in 1817 as a liberal weekly, The Scotsman is the elder statesman of Scottish newspapers. After a number of financial crises in the 1990's, it was bought out by Johnston Press in 2005. It sets itself apart from its main rival, Glasgow based The Herald, with its conservative opinions. It shares a website with sister papers The Scotsman on Sunday and the Evening News, a popular Edinburgh based daily.
