Attorney General Eduardo Torres-Dulce has initiated the proceedings to remove the chief prosecutor in Catalonia, Martín Rodríguez Sol.
Rodríguez Sol has stated he supports the Catalan people’s right to voice their opinion in a self-determination referendum to be held in 2014.
This referendum is illegal under Spanish law and the government has already announced it plans to take legal action against the January 23 declaration of sovereignty held in the Catalan parliament in support of the vote.
