Getting into the EU is "like getting through the eye of a needle," claims Svenska Dagbladet. "EU efforts to establish a common immigration policy" are beginning to bear fruit, it reports. The Stockholm Programme, which was approved during the Swedish presidency of the EU, has paved the way for an increase in the number of charter flights deporting illegal immigrants. This year, Fontex (the EU agency responsible for border security) has organised 27 such flights. However, the daily notes that a report by Human Rights Watch has criticised the lack of transparency that surrounds these deportations.
