An Airbus A320 liner operated by budget airline Germanwings crashed into the mountains in the south-east French region of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence on 24 March whilst en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
All 150 people on board, mostly German and Spanish nationals, died. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was expected to visit the disaster site on Wednesday, along with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and French President François Hollande.
