Andrei Pleşu is a Romanian philosopher, art critic, journalist and politician. A professor of history, he is a former Romanian minister of culture (1990-1991) and foreign affairs (1997-1999). He is the chaiman of the New Europe Foundation, and the director of the weekly Dilema veche. His writings include Actualitatea îngerilor ("Current Affairs for Angels", Buchet-Castel 2005).
