French journalist Christophe Ayad (b. 1968) joined the staff of Le Monde in 2011. He previously worked for rival daily Libération (from 1993 to 2011), most notably as the newspaper’s Cairo correspondent. In 2004, he was awarded the Albert Londres Prize, and he is also the author of Géopolitique de l'Égypte (Egyptian Geopolitics) published by Éditions Complexe.
