A graduate in history of art, philosophy and psychology, which she studied at the Universities of Tübingenand and Amsterdam, Monica Soeting writes for the weekly *Vrij Nederland*, and the dailies Trouwand De Volkskrant. She is now the editor in chief of the Dutch review Biografie Bulletin.
